The Maya script zPipeMaker allows CG pipelines to be created faster and more easily. Two versions are available for this.

The Maya script by artist Chris Zukowski is available both in a free version and an expanded version for 10 euros. It is compatible with Maya versions 2010 through 2014.

The free version can be used to build a pipe segment and snap the next one onto its end. Even after the pipe chain has been created, the individual segments can still be edited afterward. Real-time controls are available for Subdivision Axis, Sub Height, Curve Length, Curve Scale, Curve Amount and Rotation. In addition, individual pipe segments or the complete row can also be optimized automatically.

In the expanded 10-dollar version of zPipeMaker, Maya users can, among other things, replace zPipes with their own meshes and revise the pipes they created themselves without having to replace them completely.

Both script versions are available here.

We already reported here on a similar script for 3ds Max.
