This option is particularly exciting for sports broadcasts or live events, where viewers can scale in on interesting things such as a shot on goal or a handball. This is intended to take place in a 16:9 region within 4K images at HD resolution in real time.
The TruZoom application is available together with the Corvid Ultra hardware for 9,995 dollars. This package includes software for scaling, the playback function and selecting interesting areas, a joystick controller and one year of upgrades. In addition, the system can play back and record 4K/UHD, 1080p, 720p or 1080i material, as well as Canon C500 RAW data at up to 60 frames per second. The incoming signal can be saved as an uncompressed DPX file, or in the case of the Canon C500 as the native Canon RAW format.
