Adobe presented the new features for the first time at IBC in Amsterdam, and now the update is available: It includes new functions for Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, SpeedGrade CC, Prelude CC, Media Encoder CC and Story Plus CC. These are intended to allow media and broadcast professionals to expand their creative toolkit and streamline the video-editing workflow.
Adobe Anywhere for video also received an important update and is now intended to enable large teams to complete all tasks from ingesting video material and logging metadata to collaborative visual-effects editing.
Features in Adobe Creative Cloud
- A new, directly linked color pipeline between Premiere Pro CC and SpeedGrade CC allows complete timelines to be moved back and forth seamlessly in the workflow. Premiere Pro sequences can be opened in SpeedGrade CC quickly and easily, the result can be seen as an effect in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and played back directly using the Lumetri Deep Color Engine.
- Ultra HD, 4K and higher resolutions, high frame rates and RAW formats are supported natively without data having to be transcoded beforehand.
- The Mask Tracker in After Effects allows video professionals to create masks and apply effects that can be tracked automatically frame by frame, saving unnecessary work steps.
- Editing functions are updated in Premiere Pro CC; multicam and subtitle editing in particular have been improved, as have flexible monitor overlays and audio-monitoring functions, so that users can work with them faster than before.
- Improved OpenCL support in Premiere Pro CC
- Improved color correction with the new SpeedLooks in SpeedGrade CC makes it possible to create dedicated camera patches so that color spaces can be matched even across different camera formats.
- New multiple masks and linked mask layers allow SpeedGrade users to better control even highly complex views.
- With the new Sync Settings in Adobe Media Encoder CC, users can transfer application-specific settings to multiple computers via Creative Cloud.
- More efficient production planning in Adobe Story Plus through import and export options for different production lists such as actors, sets, etc. and further improvements
Adobe Anywhere Updates
- Support for After Effects CC, allowing animation experts to collaborate with other members of the production team without them having to learn new software.
- Additional iPad app: It allows users to view production and playback sequences on the Anywhere server on set and from any location.
Prices and Availability
The update is free for Creative Cloud members. Special promotional offers will be available for customers who own Adobe Creative Suite 3 or higher. Adobe also offers special licensing programs for enterprise customers as well as for pupils, students, teachers, educational institutions and government agencies. An annual Adobe Creative Cloud subscription is available for 61.49 euros per month.
