The achievements of the recently released RenderMan Pro Server V18 flow into the new version. What else is new in RMS 18?
The re-rendering system in RenderMan Studio now provides full support for path tracing in look development. New workflows for shading and lighting are intended to make work faster and more intuitive.
RMS 18 also features new geometric area lights, a new lighting panel for better control of lights in a scene, support for per-light AOVs and improved subsurface scattering. The new version supports object instancing and much more.
RenderMan Studio 18 is compatible with the 64-bit operating systems Windows 8, 7 and Vista, Mac OS 10.8 and 10.7 and Linux. It supports Autodesk Maya 2013, 2013.5 and 2014. The full version costs 1,236.41 euros including VAT, the upgrade is available for 296.31 euros (including VAT), and weltenbauer charges 296.31 euros (including VAT) for one year of RMS Maintenance.
