Point of View (POV) is a documentary platform operated by the US Public Broadcasting Service. Around 147 filmmakers took part in the survey, which asked about editing software, cameras, tripods and audio equipment.
Final Cut Pro 7 is well out in front as the editing tool, Adobe Premiere Pro follows in second place with 26 percent, and 12 percent of participants named Avid Media Composer. The most popular reportage camera is the Canon EOS C300. Second place goes to the Sony PMW-EX1 and third to the Panasonic GH 3. With 54 percent, Sennheiser is no surprise for audio equipment, nor is it surprising that Adobe After Effects is the animation and special-effects software most used by US documentary filmmakers.
