That’s It

Goodbye, film. Paramount Pictures announced that it wants to distribute films digitally in future.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "Anchorman 2" is said to have been the last film that Paramount sent to cinemas as a 35 mm print. With "The Wolf of Wall Street", the studio switched completely to digital distribution, which probably represents the future. Because other major studios will probably follow suit soon.

Is that bad? No. Times simply change. And what probably will not change are errors during and before the screening. In the past, reels were faulty, broke, or ran without sound with picture or vice versa; now the film starts late because someone forgot the password and cannot log in. It has all happened before.

The only thing that is really a shame is that an ending like the one in "Inglourious Basterds" is unfortunately no longer possible.
