The tutorial is presented by a senior 3D generalist who works at MPC in Los Angeles and appears online under the name Maximus Depthimus. He himself has worked with the plug-in for Maya for six years and, over the years, it has become an essential part of his toolset.

Major studios in Los Angeles also use licenses for the plug-in. At www.uvlayout.com, a hobby version can be purchased for 200 dollars and the Pro version for 300 dollars. The student version is even available from 100 dollars.

In the tutorial, the artist shows how to create distortion-free UVs with Headus UVLayout using simple shortcut combinations.
