We have already reported online about the Sony F5 and F55 here and tested the F55 extensively in DP issue 06/13. The new firmware update 3.0 is currently available as a download for the F5, F55 and AXS-R5 recorder.
The most important new functions of the firmware: User LUTs and Look profiles, the center-scan mode for Super 16 mm optics, and new Log Curve and Color Gamut (S-Log3 and S-Gamut3). The Sony camera models can also now record XAVC format in Quad Full HD as well as MPEG HD at 1,280 x 720p. Slow and Quick Motion for XAVC 4K and XAVC QFHD in center-scan mode has also been added, and users can define clip names.
