The Bifrost tool is a new feature in Maya 2015. It is a procedural effects platform intended to solve complex simulation and rendering tasks. Originally, this workflow was intended for photorealistic liquids. The XGen Arbitrary Primitive Generator simplifies the creation of detailed geometries such as hair, fur or foliage.
Maya 2015 also includes a new method for character skinning with Geodesic Voxel Binding.
ShaderFX is a new node-based visual interface for programming shaders.
It also includes the integration of OpenSubdiv and support for Pixar’s OpenSubdiv Libraries.
Maya 2015 will also have improved tools for polygon modeling as well as expanded UV options.
Autodesk has also improved Bullet Physics.
Availability differs in each country. Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Entertainment Creation Suites and Maya LT are available in two ways: as a perpetual license or in the form of Desktop Subscription. Further information is available at www.autodesk.de.
