It has a wide-angle CMOS sensor and records at 1 megapixel with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. When the resolution is reduced, the Phantom v2511 even manages a frame rate of 677,600 fps. In addition to normal slow-motion recording, it is intended primarily for scientists and engineers who can use it to make high-speed recordings for research footage.
According to Vision Research, the sensor has excellent light sensitivity. A 12-bit depth per pixel provides a high dynamic range as well as excellent image quality.
Connection points are located on the back of the camera, and the HD-SDI ports can be configured in various ways. An internal mechanical shutter allows remote black references. The camera is equipped with a Nikon F-mount that is also suitable for G-mount lenses. In addition, the Phantom v2511 can also be fitted with a Canon EF mount, C-mount, or PL-mount.
The Phantom v2511 can use a high-speed memory card with 24 GB, 48 GB, or 96 GB as its storage medium.
Vision Research intends to ship the camera at the end of August; a price has not yet been announced.
