The Hero4 line is GoPro’s highest-performance camera series to date. It is available in two versions:

Hero4 Black

The Hero4 Black, which will be available from October 5 for around 480 euros, enables recordings at 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. At a resolution of 2.7K, it manages 50 frames per second and at 1080p even 120 frames per second. Because it minimises the rolling shutter effect, slow-motion recordings can be made. This makes it twice as powerful as the previous model.  In addition, GoPro has improved the interfaces to the most important camera functions, and GoPro app performance and energy management have been improved through Wi-Fi that is 50 percent faster combined with Bluetooth.

Hero4 Silver

The Hero4 Silver model, which costs around 100 euros less, offers the same professional recording quality as its big camera brother, with the exception of the aforementioned high-performance video modes of 4K30, 2.7K50 and 1080p120. It also offers simple playback and camera control through a built-in touch display.

The Black and Silver cameras both have a completely redesigned audio system that can capture high-fidelity sound over a dynamic range twice as high as the cameras before them. Further features include better image quality, optimised performance in low light, Highlight Moment Tagging and an improved user interface that makes the most important functions and controls easier to use.

Entry-level Hero camera

In addition, GoPro will also offer an entry-level camera model, the Hero. It is built into a waterproof housing and can film 1080p video at 30 frames per second and 720p quality at 60 frames per second. With an inexpensive price of 124.99 euros, amateur filmmakers can also afford the model for test filming.

All new GoPro camera models and the new accessories will be available from October 5. The Hero4 Black will cost 479.99 euros RRP and the Hero4 Silver 379.99 euros RRP, while the Hero is available for 124.99 euros RRP.
