Lumion in Its Fifth Version

Version 5.0 of Lumion, the 3D rendering software for architectural visualisations, will be released on November 3.

New features in the fifth major release include physically based matrials such as metal, stone, leather and plastic, as well as new material presets. There are also more effects; new additions include "Pastel Sketch", Oilpainting" and Blueprint", and the content library has also been filled with 190 new flower, plant and tree models. The Hyperlight function is intended to improve the lighting of still images. 

Further features include "Mass Movement", "Reflecting Water", "Volumetric Sun Lighting" and improved skin rendering.

Lumion is compatible with Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Revit and 3ds Max, among others. Version 5 has added an importer and exporter for McNeel’s Rhino. An update from version 4 to 5 is available for 499 euros.
