Project Scorch uses the NIST Fire Dynamics Simulator to understand the behaviour of fire in a building, including typical smoke development and the activation of the sprinkler system. Through the project, Autodesk wants to develop a more powerful and easier-to-use front end for the Fire Dynamics Simulator.

Anyone who would like to take part in Autodesk Labs’ Scorch project and contribute to its further development must agree to the conditions listed here and can then register.

At the end of November, new features were added, such as an improved CAD importer, a new project browser, and general performance and stability optimisations.

So, let the CG buildings blaze brightly!
