The new firmware version 2.1 makes the Lumix GH4 more powerful and provides improved controllability. A further update brings the associated DMW-YAGHE video interface up to date with firmware version 1.1.
With the updates, Panasonic expands the devices’ range of functions for Full HD output transmissions via HDMI or SDI (SDI output only in conjunction with the DMW-YAGH video interface). The update enables the GH4 to embed the timecode and recording control signal in the HDMI output signal during video recordings*.
When recording 30p/25p Full HD resolutions, both native 30p/25p and 60p/50p can therefore be selected for HDMI output.
With the new firmware version 1.1, the DMW-YAGHE video interface receives a
software update so that it can support the GH4’s functional upgrades. With the new firmware, the interface now offers resolutions via SDI output of 60i/50i (30PsF/25PsF) or 60p/50p.
The update is now available from Panasonic’s support pages.
