You have just started a cool job at a studio, the next three or four months are secure – and then the project is postponed.

According to Splinebomb, that is exactly what has just happened in London. MPC had expanded its crew for the next blockbuster project in London in order to support the work at the Vancouver location. But then the deadline was pushed back, and the people in Vancouver can now manage perfectly well on their own time-wise. To make matters worse, another major project in London was also pushed back by four months – as can be read in the comments on the page.

This can certainly happen from time to time. Most recently with "World War Z", which had also been delayed. And it is a different situation from that at the now severely battered studio DreamWorks. But how do you deal with it? You accepted a job because you wanted to work on a major project and perhaps even moved. In the issue after next, we will look at what must be included in a perfect freelancer contract and examine such a situation.
