When you watch the film today, you realise that Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece can still easily keep up with today’s standards. The amazing thing: in 1968, Kubrick naturally did not yet have computer-generated scenes available; every effect was realised with models.

Steven Soderbergh put a sensational recut of Kubrick’s science-fiction work online last week. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. and the Stanley Kubrick Estate did not find this so delightful from a legal perspective, and Soderbergh had to take his cut off the internet again.
