animago AWARD 2014 – more than 1,000 entries were submitted from 67 countries last year, but not every little gem makes it among the nominees and into the animago SPECIAL. That is why – with the starting signal for this year’s competition – we are presenting entries from all over the world every week. This time from London.
animago Entry Tiny Worlds
What actually happens to the rubbish on the street? To discarded cigarette butts, matches and chewing gum? Assuming, that is, there were no municipal street cleaning with sweepers.
Perhaps that is what the artists wondered as they made their way every day into the heart of London’s Soho district, to Old Compton Street, to do their day’s work at Rushes Postproduction. A company that has been on the market since 1977 and, for example, helped create the famous Dire Straits music video "Money for Nothing", which helped shape VFX history (see also the 100th issue of Digital Production).
This compilation of the trilogy of micro-shorts therefore shows what happens when nobody is looking:
