Morph Cut

At NAB 2015, Adobe revealed which functions are coming to editors who use Premiere Pro CC. It is often tedious to cut “uhs” and “ohs” and other slips of the tongue out of interviews. With Morph Cut, these can be eliminated unnoticed in static camera shots by having Premiere create invisible transitions through morphing, eliminating the need for the previously usual jump cuts or flashes that many viewers find distracting.

According to Adobe, the tool works with face detection and interpolation technology and calculates missing intermediate frames so that the transition looks smooth and even. Editing interviews may therefore become less tedious with the release of the new version.

Creative Cloud Librarys

Another important feature is the new Creative Cloud Librarys that will be added with the Premiere upgrade. Through the Librarys, color looks can also be exchanged with other Adobe tools. The Lumetri Color Panel is intended to make color corrections very easy, and colour grading can become a natural part of editing. Anyone who would rather transfer the Premiere project to a colorist can do so via Direct Link in Adobe Speedgrade.

Additional Features

Other features include easier switching between workspaces when, for example, users alternate between mobile and stationary devices and need different interfaces for them. File-format support is also being expanded: in the new version, Premiere supports Apple Prores 4444 XQ, Avid DNxHR with compresed alpha, Canon XF-AVC, MXF-wrapped JPEG 2000 and Panasonic 4K_HS. There are also expanded audio options; voiceover recording is intended to become easier, audio-channel routing has been improved, and there are more audio-export options. Additional shortcuts make editing run even faster.
