Smith Micro has released the new version of its Telly Award-winning software Anime Studio. The program can be used to realise digital 2D animation projects.
The most important new feature in version 11 is the frame-by-frame feature: It allows users to switch between traditional and automated animation techniques. Effects can therefore be created more quickly without having to jump back and forth between tools.
Other new features at a glance:
- Layer references pass changes from one design layer to all related layer, even across documents.
- Animated Shape Ordering can rearrange shapes within the animation timeline. It is no longer necessary to adjust every full frame individually.
- The drawing tools have also been improved: Merge Strokes is a blur for curves, Blob Brush for simple shapes, Color Points is a new colour-mixing tool, and Merges Alpha and Drift Angel Brushes give designs a more natural look.
- JSON File Format Support for Java Script Object Notation (JSON) ensures faster data transfer. But the formats are still compatible with the old Anime Studio version and with MotionArtist file formats.
