Could there be a relationship with the witch hunters Hansel & Gretel? At least in terms of success, Kaulder, alias Vin Diesel, could not keep up with the fairy-tale siblings: For a 90-million-dollar production, “The Last Witch Hunter” took in very little on the first weekend after its cinema release: a meagre 25 million worldwide.
It seems that without fast racing cars around him, Vin Diesel cannot really draw the masses to the cinema. Image Engine had to create the film’s effects for many dark witch images, as can be seen in the Canadian studio’s breakdown reel.
