A reminder once again: Fusion is free; Fusion Studio is the paid full version of the compositing software, available for 995 US dollars.
Fusion 8 Studio Features
In addition to all Fusion features, Fusion 8 Studio has a number of optimized extra features such as Optical Flow tools for retiming, image repair, color smoothing and a morphing function between different images, as well as the option to render images at resolutions greater than UHD.
New additions include improved stereoscopic tools for 3D conversion, support for plug-ins, remote scripting and “Avid Connect,” a Windows plug-in that lets Fusion be operated directly from the Media Composer timeline. Projects created with the free Fusion 8 can now be finished in Fusion 8 Studio—regardless of which platform they were created with. Using the multi-user studio software “Generation,” users can manage assets, track versions, and perform shot-based reviews and approvals.
Also added to Fusion Studio in the current Update 8 is Render Node software that allows customers to install an unlimited number of Fusion Render Nodes on additional computers free of charge.
