Feix, who graduated from the Animation focus at the Animation Institute of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, thus continues the previous year’s run of success. Last February, together with his animation effects producer Francesco Faranna, he already took home a VES Award in the “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Student Project” category.
“Citipati” was the only German student project competing in the student category at the Annie Awards. The other nominees were: “Fishwitch” (Adrienne Dowling), “The Abyss” (Liying Huang), “The Wrong End of the Stick (Terri Matthews) and “Twiddly Things” (Adara Todd).
Andreas Feix on his victory: “We feel overwhelmed and honored to receive this prize for Citipati at the Annie Awards. We are very pleased that the story of our little dinosaur is receiving such recognition—especially when you consider that things could have turned out very differently if there had not been a little push in the right direction during development. And that is why we owe the prize very much to the Filmakademie and the Animation Institute, which provided us with resources, a productive environment, and exchanges with colleagues and lecturers. In this way, a small idea was able to set off on a long journey.”
VES Award for CG boxer?
Since graduating, Andreas Feix has worked at MPC Advertising. With his team from the commercial “John Lewis: Buster the Boxer”, he could win another important prize in one of the professional categories at the VES Awards today (6:45 pm Los Angeles time).
