The Xsens Indie programme was launched to support new talent in their work. The Xsens MVN MoCap system can be used to collect motion-capture data anywhere, without an elaborate studio setting. Xsens technology was used for “Indepenence Day: Resurgence,” “Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy” and the “FIFA” game, among others.
Triple-A Technology Despite a Small Budget
Anyone accepted into the Indie programme initially only has to pay the costs for the hardware. The MVN Studio Pro subscription is free in the first year, and the ongoing costs then adjust to the growth of the business, which allows considerable savings.
Who Can Apply?
If you have not previously been an Xsens customer and have a registered company that generated no more than €750,000 in revenue in the past financial year, then you can apply to Xsens for the Indie programme. Anyone who meets the required criteria can choose between the Xsens MVN Awinda or Xsens MVN Link hardware. Awinda includes a strap set for the complete body (€6,990); Link additionally includes a Lycra suit (€11,565) in addition.
Anyone who still falls under “Indie” in terms of earnings in the second year pays €2,700 for MVN Studio and €4,750 for the Pro version. If the Indie status has already been left in the second year, then the system costs the company the normal annual software price of €5,400 or €9,500 for the Pro version.
