The development team of the open-source renderer Appleseed has added support for render denoising, random walk subsurface scattering, camera shutter curves and a new pixel time AOV in its latest update, 1.9.
The plug-ins for 3ds Max and Blender are also getting reinforcements. Both now support all of Appleseed’s internal OSL materials. In addition, the 3ds Max plug-in can now also handle ActiveShade rendering and render elements.
