Directed Erosion Possible in Gaea

The new Early Access build now also has this practical tool.

Although still in Early Access, Quadspinner has already added several more tools to its landscape-modelling program. One of them is Directed Erosion, which makes it possible to “sculpt” erosion into the terrain, meaning to apply it only to parts of the surface.
A total of 12 different options have been built in for the type of erosion to be applied here. The tools can be used in three different ways, meaning in three modes.

  • Normal: Behaves as you would expect in real nature. Something is removed in one place and deposited elsewhere.
  • Infinite Flow: Places deposits, but without taking anything away elsewhere.
  • Erosive Mode: Is the opposite, meaning it removes something in one place without placing it elsewhere.

The entire Directed Erosion is examined more closely once again in a blog post by Quadspinner.
