Anyone who wanted to assess the performance of a hardware setup can create a real benchmark with the help of Maxon’s Cinebench . The test results reflect typical use cases of a Cinema 4D user. Since the R15 variant is now a little rusty, Maxon now has Cinebench in a new R20 version:
Cinebench R20 Technical Information
Unfortunately, the new benchmarking tool no longer tests GPU performance. For instructions on using it, Maxon has created a short PDF that you can view here. New features in Cinebench R20 include…
- More complex test scene: eight times more computing power and four times the amount of memory than the R15 Cinebench test scene
- Latest rendering technologies: supports Embree, for example, as well as new features of modern AMD and Intel CPUs.
- Better stability tests for assessing the cooling and performance of desktop and notebook computers under prolonged load.
Requirements & Availability
Cinebench Release 20 can be downloaded from the Microsoft and Apple app stores. The application is compatible with Windows 7 SP1 64-bit or higher with Intel or AMD 64-bit CPUs with SSE3 support, or MacOS 10.11.6 or higher with 64-bit CPUs on Intel-based Apple Macintosh. 4 GB of RAM is required.
