As recently reported, the Blender 2.80 release is imminent. Since the Python API and UI of Blender 2.80 are now officially “frozen”, many users can release new compatible versions of their add-ons and plug-ins.  Photographer is one of these tools that is already available for the next Blender version. The free add-on by Fabien Christin adds settings to your cameras that are based on real cameras. The aim is to create photorealistic renderings with Cycles and EEVEE more intuitively.

The Photographer Add-on

After installation and activation in the preferences, the add-on adds a new Photographer menu to the cameras in a Blender scene. In the menu, you then find various useful parameters, including..

Exposure settings – either in “EV” mode with exposure value and F-stop or in “Manual” mode with the familiar shutter speed, F-stop and ISO parameters

White balancing via color temperature, tint and an additional picker

Camera resolution for overriding aspect ratios & resolutions

Motion blur is controlled through shutter speed and angle settings

AF-S and AF-C button for autofocus and focus-picker features
