With its “Flashback” series, Sony Pictures Imageworks looks back at older film productions. In short breakdown clips, Imageworks has so far shown small excerpts from Stuart Little (1999) and Spider Man (2002), among others. Now the studio has added another title: “Contact” (1997). In one of the film’s most exciting scenes, Ellie runs to the medicine cabinet after finding her father on the floor. The scene was filmed as a one-shot and shows the girl running from the bottom of the stairs to the mirrored cabinet and opening it. In the new clip, the studio shows the plates used to create the mirror trick.
