Productions in Premiere Pro

The upcoming feature is a new project type with an associated “Productions” panel in Premiere Pro which, unlike “Team Projects”, is geared towards workflows with shared local storage. Feature highlights include:

  • Multiple Projects can be created and organised within a production.
  • Teams: Multiple editors can work on projects in a single production.
  • Project Locking to prevent projects from being overwritten.
  • Local Storage: Productions do not require an internet connection.
  • Two-Way Syncing between the “Productions Panel” and the folder on the OS.
  • Production Panel: Displays all projects and assigned team members.
  • Asset Sharing between projects is possible without creating duplicates.
The Productions panel is intended as a kind of “Command Center” for multi-project workflows.

Apart from the usual “Coming Soon”, Adobe has not yet provided any precise information about the release of the new Productions feature. More about it will be on display by the NAB 2020 at the latest.
