Interface and timeline changes
Sculptron Alpha 2 revised both the visual design and operation of its interface, with a substantially reworked timeline. Mouse-only navigation became possible, reducing dependence on keyboard input.
Playback, sculpting and display
Playback and sculpting performance improved, and brush-tool feedback was refined. Wireframes could be displayed in the OpenGL preview, while Grid mode gained colour and opacity controls. The update also introduced a Toon material.
GPU sculpting for mesh caches
Sculptron was a Windows-only, GPU-based sculpting application for static models and animated mesh caches. As an alpha build, it warranted careful testing of cache import, playback consistency and save compatibility before use on production assets.
