Sony Cinema Line
Sony announced its Cinema Line, bringing together cameras intended for demanding filmmaking workflows. The range included Venice and the PXW-FX9, with the smaller FX6 scheduled to join them by the end of 2020.
Sony also outlined firmware development for existing models. Venice version 6.0 was expected to add broadcast and live-production options in November 2020. PXW-FX9 version 3 was planned for the following year with S700PTP remote control, a Super 16 centre-scan mode and B4 lens support.
This is historical roadmap information. Crews should check current firmware, codec, lens and remote-control support and test the complete camera package before production.
Sony provided details on its Cinema Line page and in camera presentations.
