Premiere Pro

Adobe’s September 2020 Premiere Pro release introduced Scene Edit Detection, an Adobe Sensei feature designed to identify cut points in an already rendered video and add edits to the timeline. That could simplify clip-by-clip colour correction, reframing and other finishing work.

Quick Export also entered public beta, providing faster access to commonly used export settings from the application header. Adobe explained its public-beta programme in an Adobe Blog post.

After Effects 17.1.4

After Effects 17.1.4 added 3D Transform Gizmos and Camera Navigation Tools for positioning, scaling and rotating layers and for orbiting, panning and moving cameras through a scene.

Adobe also reported OpenEXR previews for multichannel files up to three times faster than before. GPU acceleration covered additional channel effects, including Shift Channels, Set Channels and Channel Combiner, with Adobe claiming performance gains of up to 1.65 times in supported cases.

Editors and motion designers should test project compatibility, plug-ins and representative exports before updating production systems.
