Epic Games scheduled the free online event Unreal Build: Virtual Production for 10 November 2020. Film and television creators discussed how virtual-production techniques were moving from an emerging idea into established production practice.

Programme

The event featured Unreal Engine 4.26 updates and a guest presentation from Weta Digital. Highlights included a studio-leadership panel with representatives from Amazon Studios, Disney/Lucasfilm, Netflix, Paramount and Universal Pictures; an Unreal Engine demonstration by creature designer Aaron Sims; AMGI’s real-time episodic-animation workflow; a behind-the-scenes presentation from VFX artist Max Rocchetti; and The Mandalorian art director Andrew Jones discussing virtual production from the art department’s perspective.
