Developer Ethan Saadia released PhotoCatch as a free macOS app using Apple’s Object Capture API to convert photographs into 3D models. A paid web version was also available for users without a compatible Mac.

Photographs to USDZ

Users supplied a set of photographs of an object, adjusted the processing settings if required, and selected Create Model. PhotoCatch reconstructed the subject and exported the result as a USDZ file.

The workflow offered an accessible route into object photogrammetry for visualisation, augmented reality and 3D content creation.
