In brief: Maxon released Trapcode 17.1 with workflow, performance and stability updates as part of its autumn updates for Maxon One subscribers.
Null workflow: After creating a null, the Create Null button changed to Unlink Null to make disconnection more direct. Undoing Create Null was reduced to one step.
Rendering and splines: Maxon reported better performance on longer renders containing fluid dynamics. Support for Cinema 4D spline shapes was expanded so particles could emit from vertices as well as edges.
Designer: Multi-selection behaviour was revised to reduce accidental selection of multiple systems. Custom system names appeared in the Emit from Parent System menu for child systems.
The update was distributed through the Maxon App. Digital Production’s earlier coverage includes Trapcode Suite 16, Trapcode 14 and Trapcode 15.
Test particle behaviour, project compatibility and render performance with the intended host versions before production deployment.
