City generation in Blender

Digital Mirage Entertainment released Citigen for Blender 2.93 and later. The add-on generated urban environments with paved roads, streetlights, trees and building assets, while allowing users to add custom buildings to its library.

Detail versus scale

The developer warned that placing more than 100 by 100 blocks with the supplied high-resolution buildings required a powerful GPU. Lower-detail replacements enabled much larger city layouts. Planned additions included highways, rivers, improved building presets and expanded virtual-camera rigging.

At launch, licences ranged from a US$39 non-commercial single-user tier to US$199 for up to five studio users. Verify current terms and performance before production use.
