In brief: CG artist Jay H. Patel recreated the Scottish estate and James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 as seen in Skyfall, the 23rd Bond film.

How was the project built? Patel aimed to match the film reference closely, although he acknowledged that the result was not exact. He modelled the project in 3ds Max, using wide establishing shots from the film as visual reference. Unreal Engine 5 handled lighting and rendering. Patel highlighted Lumen global illumination and used raster translucency for Niagara particles and fog cards.

Which assets were used? Patel sourced scans, textures and foliage from Quixel Megascans. The Aston Martin 3D model came from Squir. Artists should check asset licences, material conversion and real-time performance before production use.

Project link: Patel published the recreation and other 3D work, including studies based on The Batman, Arrival and a Mercedes G63 AMG, on Instagram.
