Acid Pro 2026 Returns to the Timeline

Acid Pro 2026 brings more loops, editable MIDI song projects, DLS patches and fresh licensing for quick music beds and beat assembly.

The vertical tracks are arranged in shades of green, blue, yellow, red, and purple, creating a lively mosaic of audio elements. Each waveform has distinct textures, hinting at different sounds, while buttons and controls are neatly aligned below.

For those who don’t know the tool: Acid Pro is a loop-based DAW for music beds, beats and cues using loops, MIDI and recorded audio. Under Boris FX, it sits beside Vegas Pro for editing and Sound Forge for detailed audio repair and mastering.

Content first

Acid Pro 2026 is now available! The release focuses on source material rather than pretending that another menu redesign will save civilisation. It includes nearly 1,000 loops, one-shots and songs, 15 editable song projects, more than 1,100 MIDI parts, more than 90 DLS instrument patches and the Essential Sounds I, II and III libraries with more than 800 “Acidized” elements.

Loop work, MIDI and video cues

The core workflow remains loop-based composition with drag-and-drop arranging, automatic pitch and tempo matching for Acidized loops, live preview, MIDI sequencing, VSTi support, multitrack recording, editing and mixing. The toolset also includes the Chopper for slicing loops, groove handling, loudness meters and flexible routing.

For video editing work, Acid Pro can preview video on the timeline and use hit-point markers for cue sync. That keeps the tool relevant for temp scores, trailer beds, social spots and other jobs where the music needs to land on an edit point, not in a mood board.

Licensing and pricing

Boris FX pricing lists Acid Pro at $12.95 monthly, $69.95 annually, $89.95 for Upgrade & Support and $149.95 for a perpetual license. A Boris FX account is required for Boris FX versions of Vegas Pro, Sound Forge and Acid Pro. Users who bought Acid Pro 11 from MAGIX on or after 1 January 2026 are eligible for a complimentary upgrade. Earlier Acid Pro 11 purchases use the upgrade route in the Boris FX store.

Windows requirements

The minimum operating system is Windows 11. The listed baseline is a 1 GHz processor, with multicore or multiprocessor recommended, onboard graphics at 1024 x 768 minimum, 1 GB RAM with 8 GB recommended, 700 MB for program installation and up to 16 GB for the included instruments and loops.

Supported audio import and export formats include AIFF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, W64, WAV and WMA. Supported project and related formats include ACD, ACD-ZIP, GROOVE, MID, SMF, RMI, CDA and SFA for import, while export lists ACD, ACD-ZIP, GROOVE and MID.

Test before trusting it

The practical value is repeatable timing: loops follow project tempo, MIDI stays editable and video preview keeps cues near hit points. Test Acid Pro 2026 in a copy of your project before production use, especially with older ACD projects, third-party VST instruments and existing loop libraries.
