Digital Anarchy released Aurora Sky, a plug-in for Adobe After Effects that generated photorealistic clouds and skies. A Final Cut Pro version was in beta.

The plug-in used After Effects’ 3D capabilities to build volumetric cloud formations beyond a flat fractal layer, including fly-through effects that appeared to surround the camera.

Bézier paths could shape clouds, while images and logos could be projected onto them. The introductory After Effects price was $159, with a $199 list price; the planned Final Cut Pro introduction price was $129.

The release is part of the After Effects and Final Cut Pro archives.
