Diamond Cut Productions introduced Diamond Cut Five as the successor to its Millennium audio-restoration package. New Easy DeClick and Easy DeCrackle tools were joined by Fast Edit and a De-Clipper for repairing overloaded recordings.
The software supported audio at up to 192 kHz and 24 bit, along with sample-rate conversion and dithering. A live feed-through mode enabled real-time processing, while time compression and expansion could change duration without altering pitch.
Other additions included MP3 import and export, pencil-based waveform repair, scheduled recording, AIFF-to-WAV conversion and expanded preset management. More than 800 presets were supplied for recurring audio post-production tasks.
At launch, Diamond Cut Five was priced at €259 with a German-language manual of more than 400 pages. Millennium remained available for €139 and Diamond Cut 32 for €69.
