Matrox Graphics announced a digital-video workstation bundle containing the Parhelia 128 MB graphics card and the German standard edition of Adobe After Effects 5.5. The package was priced at €1,275 against a stated combined value of €1,708.
Parhelia’s dual-display and TV-output functions, together with a WYSIWYG plug-in, allowed After Effects projects to be previewed on an NTSC or PAL video monitor. The multi-display modes gave motion-graphics and visual-effects artists more space for windows and extended timelines.
Matrox PureVideo and adjustable Proc Amp controls supported full-screen review of titles, colour temperature and possible artefacts before rendering. The offer was due through distributors and the Matrox online store in Germany from January 2003.
