The animago 2003 deadline was extended by ten days to 31 March 2003. Digital Production said the change answered urgent requests from professional and student entrants whose work at CeBIT, from 12 to 19 March, had limited their preparation time.

Computer-graphics specialists, 3D artists, visual-effects artists and compositors could submit work free of charge through the animago website. Interactive and Game Design appeared as new categories that year.

The strongest entries were due to be presented at FMX/03 on 2 May at Stuttgart’s Haus der Wirtschaft, where the animago trophies would be awarded.
