The nonlinear Media 100 iHD system with the newly developed HDX Technology (“HDX”) enables uncompressed 10-bit HD and SD input/output as well as format conversion between all HD and SD formats in real time and in broadcast quality. According to the provider, thanks to HDX, Media 100 iHD is the first system of its kind that enables resolution-independent mixing and matching of HD and SD material in the same timeline as well as uncompressed 10-bit-native- HD editing. And this – according to Media 100 – at a price below
10,000 euros.
Media 100 iHD includes the Media 100i software, which supports Mac OS X and the Aqua user interface. It offers numerous
powerful, proven functions for Media 100 iHD in the area of content design and interoperability with third-party providers. For example:
· DirectEdit enables direct and simple
access to most system functions from the timeline;
·InstantMedia means integration for native media compatibility with every Quicktime application;
· An Adobe After Effects integration that enables Media 100i timeline elements to be exported as separate After Effects layers for independent editing;
·Native YUV color correction delivers professional results;
· Sound-design support for real-time audio EQ, reverb and
dynamics processing on up to 24 audio tracks;
·Direct timeline access to the Boris title generator and editing of video effects.
The HDX technology that gives Media 100 iHD its HD/SD performance
includes a high-density HDX PCI card that supports uncompressed 10-bit input/output for all HD and SD digital television formats defined by SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 259M. With broadcast-format conversion, Media 100 iHD can carry out conversions from any HD format into any HD format, from any SD format into any HD format and from any HD format into any SD format. And this in real time. This function enables users to master any HD or SD format regardless of the respective source format. In addition, thanks to broadcast-format conversion, users can mix and match HD and SD source material in a single timeline.
Starting with 10-bit quantization, HDX technology uses digital signal processing and real-time algorithms throughout.
The first deliveries of Media 100 iHD the manufacturer announces expected for the year 2003. The intended price for Media 100 iHD software and hardware (HDX) is to be below EUR 10,000.00. Complete
system configurations of Media 100 iHD with a workstation and
high-speed media storage will be available starting at a price of around EUR 20,000.00.
