Asset functionality lets artists create and manage libraries of reusable characters, effects and other elements, allowing studios to process larger numbers of shots more efficiently. Houdini 6 also adds improved animation, lighting and compositing capabilities together with new particle tools. The interface and online help have been revised, while the integrated Mantra renderer now supports global illumination for more realistic rendering.
