Graphics and compositing in the timeline
The plug-ins added professional graphics and 3D compositing to Blade’s software-only editing environment. Users could preview work in real time before rendering.
Boris certification expanded the range of third-party products supporting the Blade line. Version 2.2 with both Boris packages carried a US list price of $499, while upgrades from Blade 1.0 cost $150.
The software shipped in May 2003 as an electronic download and through authorised resellers. Current operating-system, host and plug-in compatibility should be tested before production use.
