Sony Picture Imageworks Chooses BodyPaint 3D

has decided to include the BodyPaint 3D software from German software specialist Maxon Computer in Your production workflow.

BodyPaint 3D is used for painting and texturing 3D objects and surfaces. Maxon is regarded worldwide as a leading German manufacturer of professional 3D modeling, animation, painting and rendering solutions.

After intensive test series, Imageworks chose BodyPaint 3D

decided. The decisive factors were above all the good workflow, the

extensive tools and, above all, the outstanding program stability. Also important to SPI is the seamless integration of BodyPaint 3D with other leading 3D packages, such as Maxon’s own modeling and animation program Cinama 4D.

The collaboration between MAXON and Sony Pictures Imageworks was

already begun during the development of the new Release 2 of BodyPaint 3D.Some groundbreaking new functions, such as the currently most extensive implementation of “Projection Painting,” were developed by the Maxon developers in cooperation with SPI. However, these functions are not reserved only for Imageworks, but are available to all users of the new Release 2 of BodyPaint 3D.
