Award-winning animated films from all over the world run virtually around the clock in Siggraph’s Animation Theater. Anyone can submit a film, but only the best are shown. This year there were 560 submissions from 27 countries, but only 173 of them were admitted.
Among the selected entries are projects by students as well as by commercially working companies. Pleasingly: Three of the submissions come from Germany. As part of the programme, several films that were awarded a trophy at the animago AWARD 2005 are also shown: Alongside the grand-prize winner “Gopher Broke”, the Polish production “Fallen Art” also flickers across the screen. It took second place at the animago.
