Still labelled “Beta”, but already live at least, is 3dscience.com, a website of the Zygote Media Group with scientific 3D models. The most important part of the online offering is a complete human body with all bones and muscles as well as nerve tissue, blood vessels and internal organs. These models were used, for example, in the film “Hollow Man” to animate a semi-transparent person.

Zygote plans to create an online platform for scientific 3D models, images and animations. The company will offer its own 3D models on these pages and give registered users the opportunity to sell the models they developed themselves there as well.

At http://www.3dscience.com, users can register and currently still download some models free of charge. All models will be available for the major modelling programs (3ds max, Maya and Softimage). Pricing models for future models are not yet known and will only be set during ongoing operation.

In addition, Zygote has announced, as the first company, a complete female body at the same level of detail as the male body. The spectrum currently ranges from human bodies to models of nanotubes and black holes – in short, everything that can be used scientifically.
