3DLabs, a subsidiary of Creative Technology, is giving up the competitive fight against ATI and Nvidia: as the company states in an official declaration, it no longer intends to be active “in the shrinking market for professional workstation graphics cards.” Instead, it will focus on handheld devices that require high audio, video and 3D performance.
The withdrawal is accompanied by 100 layoffs.
