As part of the Munich Film Festival 2006, MedienCampus Bayern e.V. presents the 8th Animation Meeting. The event takes place on July 20, 2006, at 8 p.m. in the Blackbox, Gasteig.
The speakers include Michael Coldewey of Trixter Film. He presents a making-of of “Hui Buh” with Michael “Bully” Herbig as the castle ghost. The technology used will be an “absolute sensation,” Coldewey promises: “Hui Buh outdoes everything that has come before. He lives – and properly at that. Not through motion capture, but according to classical rules, because everything was animated by hand,” Coldewey advertises.
J. Chad Hammes of Berlin Filmcompanie (BFC) shows for the first time a making-of of “Happily N`Ever After,” the new 3D animated film by Oscar winner John H.
Williams, the producer of “Shrek.” With a budget of around 44 million euros, “Happily N´Ever After” is considered the most elaborate film yet produced entirely in 3D in Europe. It was made in Berlin at BFC Berliner Film Companie Productions GmbH in collaboration with John H. Williams. Very freely based on the Brothers Grimm, director Paul Bolger turns the fairy-tale world upside down in the 74-minute feature film. In the US original version, Sigourney Weaver
(“Aliens”), Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy – The Vampire Slayer”) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (“Scooby Doo”) lend the animated characters Their voices.
Other presentations show a making-of of the current Adidas commercial with the German national football team as the lead performers, as well as the creation of the football comedy “Good Halves, Bad Halves,” which is intended to function simultaneously as an entertainment format for television and online providers.
